What Is 1/4 Inch Graph Paper Used For?
- Math class: graphing lines and functions, plotting points, and drawing bar graphs.
- Floor plans: at the common 1/4 inch = 1 foot scale, each square is one foot of real space. A 12 x 15 foot room is 12 x 15 squares.
- Crafts: charting cross-stitch, knitting and quilt patterns.
- Drawing: pixel art, logo sketches and lettering practice.
- Notes and journals: neat tables, lists and diagrams.
Which Version Should You Use?
Use the page with bold inch lines when you need to count or measure, such as for scale drawings or graphs. Use the plain grid when the lines should stay in the background, such as for sketching or handwriting.
Print at the Right Size
Set your printer to 100% or “Actual size” and turn off “Fit to page”. Then measure four squares with a ruler. They should add up to exactly one inch. The grid is free for personal and classroom use.
