This free printable hundreds chart to 120 shows the numbers 1 to 120 in 12 rows of 10, with every multiple of ten highlighted in orange. It is the counting chart many first grade classrooms use, since students learn to count, read and write numbers all the way to 120.

Patterns Kids Can Find on a 120 Chart
- Moving right adds 1, and moving left takes away 1.
- Moving down one row adds 10, and moving up takes away 10.
- Every number in a column ends in the same digit, such as 3, 13, 23, 33.
- The last column holds the tens: 10, 20, 30, all the way to 120.
Activities with the Hundreds Chart
- Skip counting: color every 2nd, 5th or 10th number to see the pattern.
- Mystery number: give clues such as “10 more than 45” and have students find 55.
- Odd and even: color the even numbers one color and odd numbers another.
- Number puzzles: cut the chart into pieces and put it back together.
- Daily counting: mark one square for each day of school.
Why Go to 120 Instead of 100?
Counting past 100 is tricky, because children often write 101 as “1001”. A 120 chart shows that 101 to 120 follow the same pattern as 1 to 20, which helps students understand place value.
